WWII Linford Hosptial

Linford Ringwood Hampshire.

Linford Hospital built during the 1940's and was left empty for many years after the war. I can't seem to get any information about this building. When I was a young lad the place was haunted! and no body would go there. The last bit of information was during 2010 when it was called Linford Park Nursing Home.
"A total of 13 suspected illegal immigrants were arrested at the Linford Park Nursing Home in Poulner and a further four staff members, believed to have been running the home, were arrested on suspicion of neglect. A fifth person was arrested on suspicion of theft – but this is not related to the care investigation. It is now feared the home could be forced to close, after all its residents were moved out. The home has more than 100 beds but it only had 36 residents registered when the UK Border Agency officers swooped."
A great place for a horror film?

I would love to have more info on this place. There are some great views over the New Forest from here.

The weather has been horrible! Just bought the Cam Ranger and still need to test it out before taking some property shots (sunny weather). Set up my camera, some lead soldiers and sat in my chair with my iPad! Photoshop later. Must say the Cam Ranger is great.

The Battle of Waterloo was fought on Sunday, 18 June 1815 (not 24th March 2013!) near Waterloo in present-day Belgium, then part of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands. An Imperial French army under the command of Emperor Napoleon was defeated by the armies of the Seventh Coalition, comprising an Anglo-Allied army under the command of the Duke of Wellington combined with a Prussian army under the command of Gebhard von Blücher.

House or Church?

House or Church? by LLAP Dorset

Via Flickr:
All Saint's Church Minstead New Forest Hampshire.

The village church is the church of All Saints. The chancel and nave, which are of stone, date from the 13th century. The rest of the building, in red brick, is of 18th-century or later date, including the tower. The font is 12th century. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is buried in the churchyard. The church has two large galleries and a three-decker pulpit. The church also boasts an unusual "luxury" pew, complete with its own fireplace.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's grave is under a large tree in the churchyard. Sir Arthur was originally buried in a vertical position in Crowborough and re-interred in Minstead by the family of his deceased first wife after the death of the second Lady Conan Doyle. Minstead figured prominently in Conan Doyle's historical novel The White Company.

The Smith's Arms, Godmanstone, closed for business seven years ago. A small faded handwritten sign in the window says the pub closed due to ‘continued ill-health’ and states the pub will not re-open. This is followed by a message of thanks to all the Smith’s Arms loyal customers.

It is said that the original licence was granted by King Charles II, when he requested that the village smith serve him a glass of porter. The smith refused as he had no licence, so Charles granted him one on the spot and was served his drink.

The ruin of a 14th Century church in the centre of a pagan earth circle, built in the Bronze Age, makes Knowlton unique. It is located about 2 miles south of Cranborne and 6 miles north of Wimborne, Knowlton was once a thriving village.

The stainless steel memorial is set on a Purbeck stone plinth. It represents two radar dishes which are arranged in such a way that they also form a large fire basket. This reflects both ancient and modern methods to warn of invasion: fires were lit as beacons to warn of the Spanish armada while radar forms the modern equivalent.
