After waiting a couple days, the weather was just right, blue sky and no heavy wind! Early start from home but well worth the wait. Had a chat with Mr Hillier and packed up before the gardens was open to the public at 10am.

More wet days than sunny days! Lucky the Agent didn't mind the weather as a sunny day would have cast more shadows over the house (trees). Met Office didn't say anything about the rain!

Established in 1953 by the distinguished plantsman Sir Harold Hillier, the magnificent collection of over 42,000 plants from temperate regions around the world grows in a variety of superb themed landscapes set over 180-acres of rolling Hampshire countryside.

Officers and NCOs of the 6th Inniskilling Dragoons (Service Squadron), raised in Ireland in the first months of the war. Many of these men went on to serve in the 2nd Regiment North Irish Horse, which formed by the combination of this Squadron and C and F Squadrons of the NIH in June 1916. The Squadron embarked for France at the beginning of October 1915.
